WHY NOW?

Investment in renewable energy has grown dramatically in the last few years. But poor working conditions are driving people from the field. Workers face job insecurity, low wages and per diems, lack of benefits, and poor safety conditions. We cannot have a just transition to a clean economy without more good, green jobs. These changes won't happen without workers leading the way.

WH0 WE ARE

We are a project of PowerSwitch Action, a national network of leading regional advocacy organizations that support innovative solutions to our nation’s economic and environmental problems. More than 1,500 renewable energy workers across the country have joined us and our leadership organizing committee meets monthly. GWA is a member of the Climate Justice Alliance and works with unions like LIUNA, the Utility Workers, and IBEW. Our funders include the Ford Foundation, 128 Collective, the Climate and Clean Energy Equity Fund, the JPB Foundation, and the Carmack Collective.

WHAT WE DO

The Green Workers Alliance mobilizes current and future workers in the clean energy field to build support for green jobs policies that grow the sector and improve job quality. We are currently focusing our organizing on the 100,000 workers on utility-scale solar and wind projects.
